Composers' residency

Residency for Young Composers in Kovachevitsa

In 2026, we are inviting five young composers to come to our festival and spend a week in the beautiful village of Kovachevitsa in the Rhodope Mountains — drawing inspiration from the landscape, attending concerts, presentations, and discussions, and working closely with three renowned composers: David Ludwig (Dean of Music and Chair of Composition at the Juilliard School, New York), Penka Kouneva (Grammy Award winning Hollywood composer), and Peter Kerkelov (Chair of Composition at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music, Bulgaria).

This summer we are proud to feature five exceptional young composers.
