The 2023 edition of the Off the Beaten Path chamber music festival will present the world premiere of a new chamber work for piano quintet by Dobrinka Tabakova, a special commission for the festival's fifth anniversary.
You will also hear chamber music masterpieces by Brahms, Schoenberg and Dohnányi, as well as less frequently performed works for diverse ensembles and singers by Bernstein, Bacewicz and Montgomery. World-renowned musicians Randall Scarlata, baritone (USA) and Max Bailey, viola (UK) will be visiting Bulgaria for the first time. Joining our core team of musicians will also be Dora Dimitrova, violin (USA/Bulgaria) and Vyara Shuperlieva, piano (Bulgaria/Austria).
This year we are expanding The Path is Yours program. We will welcome three young Bulgarian composers – Lora Al Ahmad, Svetlin Hristov, and Petar Kerkelov – who will write new chamber music works for the musicians of the festival. We are also continuing our Singing Hearts educational program for children in the region.
